It is a must at least to pay a visit to the
prettiest street of the old city where can be seen the best preserved
Ottoman mansions turned into hotel-quarters. The mansions are
along the walls of the Topkapi Palace, facing the impressive Byzantine
monument: Saint Sophia Mosque.
The Ayasofya has 47 rooms. The complex
consists of 10 original wooden Ottoman mansions which were build
to serve the higher ranking officials of the Ottoman Palace who
were not allowed to stay inside the Topkapi Palace in the 18th
century. The buildings are all furnished with original antique
Ottoman furniture and artifacts, so it's an unforgettable experience
for history lovers to stay at such a unique place.
